Mallika's real name is 'Reema Lambha'; she changed her name because there are many Reema's in the industry.

Early life


Mallika graduated in Philosophy from Miranda House. She has worked as an airhostess.

Mallika had to pay a heavy price to pursue her dream of becoming a Bollywood Queen - she had to divorce Jet Airways pilot Captain Karan Singh Gill.

Mallika did several ads and music videos before her film debut, including the Santro ad with Shah Rukh Khan.
Mallika had 17 kissing scenes in her debut film, 'Khwahish'. And when she was asked to comment on it, she said: 'For God`s sake, I am a young girl. Do I look like a nun to you? If the hero can enjoy the kiss, why can't I?'

'I've slogged like crazy to get where I am. And those who think it's just my body that got me where I am, they should take a look at the others who have rushed in after me. They haven't gone beyond their first feverish film,' said Mallika.

'I don't think I will ever get married. I say so because I feel it is outdated, marriage is outdated. I am loving being single. Why would I sacrifice the love and devotion of so many fans,' says Mallika.
